Our sign may say "Tavern" but don't let the name fool you. This is no smoke-filled bar. The Barker Tavern is a fully-restored 17th-century house now in use as a fine dining restaurant and special event facility (part of the original dwelling is said to be one of the oldest English houses in the U.S.).

When entering The New England Dining Room, you'll be swept up in the charm of low ceilings, exposed beams which bear witness to its use as a garrison in 1676, and wood finishing polished to a high sheen. Luxuriously furnished with plush carpets, elegant table settings, and custom window treatments, the New England Dining Room is elegant but not stuffy, the ideal setting for your rehearsal dinner or wedding reception.

Planning a fall or winter wedding? Cozy up to our original working colonial fireplace – its crackling warmth will make your guests feel welcome and will add the finishing touch to your intimate reception.

The New England Dining Room is available Saturday afternoons and seats approximately 65 people.
